A Microsoft patent filed on December 31, 2012 became public today. In this patent, Microsoft describes a system in which the mood of a user or group of users are collected based on various bio-sensors such as a heart rate monitor, an electrocardiography monitor, or a galvanic skin response monitor and the microcontroller causes a mood-actuated device to react based on the emotional state of the user. Microsoft has described a robotic butterfly as the mood-actuated device which will include a mechanical component that is configured to react by moving based on the emotional state of the user. This patent idea can be applied to various situations.
