Microsoft might be soon launching their Surface tablets in India. Recently, Microsoft Surface and Surface Pro 2 tablets have passed BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) procedure to import inside India. As you can see in the image above, Maintek Computer( A unit of Pegatron) has shipped them to India. Microsoft has provided the following statement regarding this import process, “As per BIS processes, certification is mandatory for this category. For Microsoft, we do go through these processes from time-to-time, as part of any market assessment perspective. But, at this stage, we have no announcements to offer for launch timing of the said model or other models of Microsoft Surface in India.” There are two possibilities, either Microsoft Surface tablets launch is imminent in India or Microsoft has imported them for internal company purposes. We’ve all complained about the price of the Surface Pro 3, myself included. It’s frustrating that the keyboard is an extra $130 and comparatively spec’d ultrabooks are less expensive. Maybe one lesson is that consumers appreciate form factor, aesthetics, and convenience over technical specifications. Microsoft spent a lot of time during the Surface Pro 3 press event comparing the tablet to a MacBook Air. After all the Redmond software giant is marketing this a “the tablet to replace your laptop.” Another beneficial comparison would have been with Google’s Chromebook Pixel.  The Verge wrote a rave review of the product giving it a 7.5/10, citing the “incredible design” and “excellent screen.” Interesting to note the original Surface Pro was given the same exact score by the incredible unbiased professional journalists at prestigious technology website “The Verge” Let’s see how the Chromebook Pixel stacks up against the Surface Pro. I’ll compare it to ...

The device will come with lots of internal spec options starting from Core i3 which will cost $799 to Core i7/512GB model which will cost $1949. Today, Winsupersite also reported that Microsoft will reveal a bigger display size Surface device at Tuesday’s event. Sources tell me that Microsoft plans to launch a new Surface Pro model on Tuesday that is both bigger and thinner than the current Surface Pro 2. Beyond that, I don’t have too many new details, but I’m wondering whether the new device is an additional model and not a replacement for Surface Pro 2. Along with the new Surface Pro device, Microsoft will also reveal the rumored Surface Mini: No built in Kickstand An accessory cover will work as a kickstand Likely to be available in Silver, similar to ...

Microsoft has invited the press for a Surface related event on May 20th. Microsoft is expected to reveal Surface Mini which will be based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and will have a full stylus support as well. Bloomberg later reported that Microsoft will also reveal a Intel based Surface at the same event in addition to the rumored Surface Mini. Today, CNET reported that the Intel based Surface will based on a new power-optimized Haswell variant as opposed to the widely believed Intel Atom processor. “There’s definitely a new Intel-based Surface,” a chip industry source told CNET, who added that the media attending the event may “go back” with the Intel-based product. “From what I can assess so far I think it’s going to [have] a new power-optimized Haswell variant,” the source said, not an Atom processor like Intel’s Bay Trail. Microsoft already has a Intel Haswell based product ...
