According to stats from StatCounter, Windows 7 has overtaken Windows XP to become most used OS in this world. Windows 7 is one of Microsoft’s best received operating systems ever, and to underline this Microsoft has just announced they have sold 350 million licenses for the operating system in 7 months. The OS has also started achieving what so far seemed to be impossible – finally overtake Microsoft’s other very successful operating system Windows XP, with StatCounter confirming, at least in USA, that the installed base for Windows 7 has finally edged past Windows XP. This look set to only snowball from there however, with IDC estimating that more than 90% of businesses are currently in progress with their Windows 7 migrations. Microsoft today announced that Internet Explorer 9 released yesterday got over 2.3 million downloads in 24 hours of its release. Its an impressive number. Here is the message from Internet Explorer team, Internet Explorer 9 has now been downloaded 2.35 million times in the first 24 hours since its Monday night release. That is over 27 downloads every second, or over 240 downloads every 9 seconds. Wow.             At CeBIT last week, ITProPortal spoke with many Taiwanese component manufacturers on their plans regarding Windows 8. The response from them were mostly positive for Microsoft as all of them are ready to explore Windows 8 based ARM offerings such as  laptops, tablets,etc,.
