After months of rumors and reports, last week an internal build of upcoming Windows 9 build named ‘Windows Technical Preview’ with build number 9834 got leaked on the web. The leaked screenshots revealed number of upcoming features in Windows 9. First, you can see the new Start Menu which includes Live Tiles and other modern apps. Second, you can see the way to switch between multiple desktop environments widely known as Virtual Desktops. Third, you have notifications center which can be accessed from taskbar. Fourth, you have the charms bar options in a new menu in the title bar of the app. Fifth, you can see Windowed modern apps. As we get closer to the release of Windows 8.1 Update 2 new rumors have come to light. Microsoft enthusiast FaiKee has revealed new information based on his discussions with a Chinese source.  It appears Microsoft may be working on an Update 3 for Windows 8.1 (may be called Windows 8.2) to succeed Windows 8.1 Update 2. Last month, a new rumor emerged online that revealed some information about the Microsoft’s future product roadmap. The information was believed to be from a Microsoft employee who worked on these projects. It revealed that the next major version of Windows called Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 will be released in preview during Q2-Q3 time frame in 2015. Windows 9 is likely to contain a revamped Metro interface. The new start menu and windowed Metro apps will also be included in this update. Last week, we posted about a report from Paul on Winsupersite claiming that Windows 9 codenamed Threshold will be released in April 2015. He also added that Windows ‘Threshold’ might be called Windows 9 when it gets released and Microsoft is thinking to move away from Windows 8 brand to market it better.
