A patent about head-mounted display for multi-player gaming from Microsoft went public today. This is not so surprising as we already know that Microsoft is working on similar glass display system. Xbox VP Marc Whitten today revealed some information about the progress in Xbox One development during Major Nelson’s this week podcast. He revealed that Microsoft has begun the internal beta for Xbox One console. And Xbox One’s GPU clock speed was increased from 800MHz to 853MHz. We have seen many rumors and reports in the past that Microsoft will enable WinRT apps to run on Xbox One. It is almost confirmed today by the code leak by SuperDaE. The image above shows the supposedly leaked copy of Homefront 2 for Xbox One source code file list. As you can see, it has AppxManifest.xml file that indicates us that it is a WinRT app. Windows 8 apps in Windows Store has similar file arrangement. Nancy Tellem is the president of Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios which is now creating original programming for Microsoft’s Xbox platform. During a panel on the future of content at Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference in Aspen, Nancy spoke about the future of TV and how the content will involve with the upcoming technologies. This is not anything new, because we have already seen couple of reports about Microsoft allowing independent developers to publish their games by themselves in Xbox Store. Today Gameinformer reported that according to their sources, Microsoft will enable independent studios to access digital distribution without a publishing partner. Also Microsoft is drastically planning to overhaul the Xbox Games certification process. Also some news on Xbox debug console, We’ve also been told, but cannot confirm, that every Xbox One unit can be converted to a debug console.
