  Designers from design consultancy company Teague have reviewed the Sony PS4 design. Teague designed the original Xbox, conceptualized controllers for the Xbox brand, and created the Xbox 360 racing wheel. The review just focuses on the industrial design of the PS4. The console got some positive news, they commented that PS4 is a good-looking, nicely proportioned console that fits well into the modern living room.   Israeli news site Calcalist today reported that Apple has bought PrimeSense, the technology that powered the original Kinect released by Microsoft. During the release of original Kinect, Microsoft said the following on PrimeSense, “PrimeSense has delivered an important component to the technology, helping us deliver revolutionary controller-free entertainment experiences in the living room.” However, the current Xbox One Kinect is fully engineered by Microsoft. PrimeSense is the leader in 3D sensors and it already powers over dozen of natural interaction products in the market. They claim that their technology is already powering more than 24 million devices around the world. According the report, Apple bought PrimeSense for over $345 million which I think is a great deal.   Market research firm NPD announced their stats for the video game console market yesterday. Xbox 360 is back at No. 1 position being the most sold console in the U.S. market in October. About 166,000 units of Xbox 360 were sold. Microsoft yesterday sent out email to customers notifying that Zune Marketplace will no longer support rental and purchase of content starting Nov 22nd. Zune Marketplace had millions of songs, videos, podcasts, and TV shows for purchase and rental and it was available across Windows Phone 7 devices, PC, Xbox and the web.   Microsoft has added Blu-ray disc support in Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean that Microsoft will also support 3D Blu-ray playback. Microsoft has confirmed to CNET that Xbox One won’t support 3D Blu-ray playback at launch. When I first read this news, I was like, “Does it really matter?”. First of all, there are very few 3D Blu-ray content available right now and it can be played only on a appropriate 3D TV setup. However, people with lots of 3D Blu-ray content would be disappointed at this news.
