Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten spoke with Engadget at CES on Xbox One sales, updates on game streaming functionality and more. First of all, Microsoft is happy about the reception of Xbox One among consumers and working to bring it to more markets. Marc also acknowledged that consumers are finding it difficult to fully explore the social side of the gaming in Xbox One than that of Xbox 360. Microsoft is already working to fix that experience and expect an update soon. “The feedback we’ve gotten is pretty valid; some of the social stuff is hidden or harder to use than it was on the Xbox 360. So you’re gonna see us come out with an update where, well, we’re going to fix those things. As a person who’s been pretty involved in building Xbox Live for the last decade, I take it pretty seriously when people say it’s ...

China has ended its 13 year old ban on game consoles today. This should be a great news for Microsoft and Sony as their popular consoles can be sold in the world’s largest country. The new announcement from the government now allows foreign companies engaged in the production and sale of gaming entertainment devices to do their gaming related business in China. But as you can expect, there will be some authority that will review the games in accordance with Chinese culture. A few years back we saw the first Xbox 360 laptop mod and it’s not surprising that we’re seeing the same being done with the Xbox One.  Well known modder James “DarkUncle” Terry has created the first 22″ Xbox One laptop.  He posted a youtube video of the finished product but unfortunately did not go into detail of how he created it. Terry added an audio-out port to his Xbox One laptop, but has otherwise replicated all other functionality in the Xbox One.  The laptop will also have to remain plugged-in since it contains no batteries and makes use of the original XB1 power brick.  Terry has already sold his creation but there was no word on price or if more will be created in future for people to buy. Would you be interested in buying one? ...
