Vizio Launches First Windows 8 Tablet

Vizio announced it would be launching a tablet way back at CES 2013.  The 11.6 inch tablet is finally on sale for $599.  Here are the full specifications for the MT11X-A1:

  • AMD Z-60 APU featuring AMD Radeon HD graphics
  • Expansive 64GB onboard SSD storage
  • Ultra-thin and ultra-light design, at less than 0.4” thin and 1.8 lbs.
  • Dual speaker stereo sound with SRS Premium Sound HD™
  • 10 Point capacitive touch screen (simultaneous)
  • Bluetooth 4.0+ EDR
  • 2.0MP 1600 x 1200 Front Facing Camera
  • 802.11  Dual Band WiFi
  • 2GB Ram
  • 1 Micro HDMI/ 1 USB 2.0 / 1 3.5mm Headphone Jack
  • 5 Hours Battery Life
  • 11.66”W x 7.53”H x 0.39”D
  • 1.80 lbs

Vizio is relatively new to the PC market, launching its first machines about two years ago.  Little is known as to if the company is planning on a more expansive tablet lineup.  Given much more impressive tablets at the same price point, I do not expect this to sell too well.

Wish it came with a Temash processor, if they replace it with one of the dual cores of that, battery life and performance would most likely increase.
