Watch It Now: New Microsoft Surface Marketing Video Involves A Wedding Planner

Last week, Microsoft posted a promotional video for Microsoft Surface 2 tablet. The video shown involved the founder of Sweet Loren’s Ready-to-Bake Desserts, Loren Brill, uses one device for everything in her life – Surface 2. She used Surface 2 for her productive work on the go by using Office 2013, Skype calls and more.

Today, Microsoft posted another marketing video. This time, Surface 2 is being used by a wedding planner.

Ashlee is a wedding planner and someone who pretty much helps turn people’s dreams into reality. Being a wedding planner she plans and executes one of the most important days in a person’s life, and she’s using Surface 2 as her one device to fulfill her passion for helping people write their love stories. Ashlee spends a lot of time on the go and out on location. On a given afternoon she might be out testing cakes or scouting wedding venues, and Surface 2 allows her to work from wherever she is. You can see from the picture below that Ashlee is using Surface 2 to capture a photo of a cake that she will then send to her client.

A big part of Ashlee’s job is communication. She has to share pictures of her ideas with her clients, keep their feedback organized and make sure that both she and the couple getting married are all on the same page. Excel, OneNote and the camera app play major roles in Ashlee’s days; all of these make her job easier and allow her to explain her vision to her clients for their big day. In the end true love wins and it’s really cool to see Surface 2 play a part in that.

When will it be available in Hungary?

    • NegLewis

      $300 in USA
      L 300 in GB = 499 Euro

599 Euro in EU. + taxes

So… be ready to pay 700 Euro for any Surface…

      • PoohGQ

I disagree! I think when available in EU, it will only cost about 399 – 450 Euros. Their marketing is now headed by the same guy that turned Nokia around and therefore, I believe that will create better consistency than before.

Ummmm, Nokia was about to go bankrupt, there was no turning happening…

        • GG002

Surface 2 has already been on sale for quite some time here in Netherlands, and it’s a pretty okay price of €439 for 32GB. At least not €700

        • ekral

Microsoft does not respect EU market, in fact MIcrosoft act like there is no other country then USA. They sell their devices only in selected countries ( and with delay). That means no localizations, no manuals, no local support in many countries around the world.

      • GG002

It’s €439 in The Netherlands.. so it’s actually cheaper here than in GB?

    • ekral

And when will it be available in the Czech Republic? There are too many countries where you can not officialy buy Microsoft devices. This is just a one big fail.

  • ZloiYuri

    Awesomly boring….

    • GG002

What, no.. I think this is pretty good, considering it’s most likely targeting women.. as I guess you’re no woman, you’re voice doesn’t count.

    • DKJr

It’s actually good and informative while linking to normal life experience…awesome actually! Not entirely sure you think otherwise.

      • Vương Vi-Nhuyễn – 王微軟

Indeed I’d have to agree, it’s boring, and awesome at the same time, because I’m not into wedding planning (as most women will tell you ”men shouldn’t interfere because of sexist cultural reasons), but I could easily tell why it was good for her, I hope that Microsoft will do more to push Windows in general, also on Lenovo, Acer, Samsung/Anycall, and other devices, I still think that it’s bad that Microsoft is also in the hardware market (yet hypocritically praise their acquisition of Nokia’s handset division), but Microsoft should also make commercials like this for the ThinkPad. :-)

  • 1stkorean

    that video Sucks

  • Vương Vi-Nhuyễn – 王微軟

I like the commercial, but it’s still in the archaic ”haha, we’ve got office, neh, neh, neh, neh, neh… Prsrtstretsts :-P” mentality, which may still be true, but it’s no longer exclusive, Scroogle’s Lagdroid and Crapple’s iO.S. also have Microsoft Office (though Microsoft Office Mobile and not ”the full version”), this doesn’t really set the Microsoft as apart from the others as they’d hoped. What an awful ad.. way to show off the Surface uniqueness by trying to chase the Ipad’s tail all of this could be replicated on an Ipad. Nothing worst than those ridiculous capacitive stylist. I didn’t want to say it before, but looking at this ad MS should just replace the Surface 2 with an Atom processor and just forget about RT. This ad only makes me look at it like a gimped Ipad with few apps if this is how they are targeting the device just put the whimpering dog out of its misery and stick to real productivity devices that are x86 they’re like the only backer of it at this point now anyway.
