Windows 8 installed in 15 min flat on the HP Touchsmart TM2

If there is one segment of PC users who would really benefit from an upgrade to Windows 8 it is current tablet PC owners.

In the above video we have Andrew installing Windows 8 on his HTC Touchsmart TM2, and the whole process is smooth and fast, taking around 15 minutes.

We look forward to covering the many new features of the OS as they get revealed over the coming weeks, and we can see very little reason why anyone else with a touch screen PC not do the same.

Installed on the same computer here, an HP TM2-1070ca from an external DVD-Drive, took 9min for me.

It took about 15 minutes to install on my Dell Mini.  Runs better than Ubuntu, XP or Win 7 ever did on the netbook.

I was getting the same error on my HP TM2T-1000 tablet when trying to load if from Windows 7….basically doing an upgrade. Once I decided that I was ok doing away with Win7, I used an external DVD drive to load Windows 8. This skips all the “preinstall checks” that Windows 8 does. It installed in about 20 minutes. I thought it hung in a couple spots, but it was just taking it’s time. Works pretty decent from what I see. Touch seems to work a bit better. I need to do some more testing and try to get the ATI driver to load, using the Intel video for now.

For the people listing how long it took to install, I am interested in what hard drives you are installing onto and what drive you are installing from (USB, DVD, ect…)
