Windows 8 RTM now available to download for MSDN and Technet subscribers

imageLucky Technet and MSDN subscribers can now get their grubby hands on the final version of Windows 8, as will be on sale on the 26th October.

Microsoft Software Assurance customers can get the OS on August 16th, and Volume License customers without Software Assurance will be able to purchase Windows 8 through Microsoft Volume License Resellers on September 1st.

According to the Verge the early release to developers is to stimulate the development of software specific to the Modern UI, with the Windows Store only having an anaemic selection of a few hundred applications.

If you are one of the lucky few you can find the download at MSDN and Technet here.

The Verge also has a video showing the changes between the last release and RTM.
