Xbox 360 Update being pushed out with Smartglass, Xbox Music and Video fixes

Major Nelson has announced that an Xbox 360 update is being pushed out to consoles which brings a number of bug fixes and performance improvements.

The update will correct such issues such as displaying the incorrect playlist name when launching a playlist from Xbox SmartGlass to the console, an error with Xbox Video closed-captioning and an error with Xbox Music that some were experiencing.

The update is mandatory and will be required before users are able to play online.

    Hopefully it also boosts the speed at which videos load on the console that are started via Smartglass.

      that could just be a network speed issue. I haven’t used it myself but have you tried on more than one network? I mean are you on data or wifi in the wireless device?

        Well, I’ve got a 35/35 mb/s FiOS connection, so I don’t think it’s slow internet speed. When starting a movie from my desktop (wired gigabit) to my primary Xbox 360 (also wired), start speed for an HD movie is about a minute. The majority of that time is just spent loading the Xbox Video app on the Xbox 360. Launching from my Surface (obviously wireless) is about the same time.

        Things do seem a bit speedier after the update, which is good.
