It seems the Xbox One is not without it’s share of hardware problems either.  A number of users are reporting having faulty disk drives and hearing a “grinding/clicking noise.”  Some users have reported that their device will not turn. One user received a device that had been physically damaged.  Right now these appear to be somewhat isolated events, but only time will tell as to how widespread these events are.  There may be more information by Monday if more users report having problems with their consoles. We will keep an eye on this, just as we have been doing with the PS4 and report back when we have more information.

Microsoft has released the following statement:

We know that with a hardware launch of this magnitude customers will have questions and we have many avenues for customers to get the answers they need and get back in the game as soon as possible. Rest assured we plan to take care of our customers.

I’m not seeing any issues with mine. I do feel for those who may be experiencing this or any other issues.

It will become interesting in the coming days when all the Microsoft hating publishers write about Xbox One being 40% faulty and how PS4 never had any problem. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

Nothing is ever perfect. But setting perfection as the bar should be any company’s goal. Saying 0.4% is an acceptable return rate is……well, unacceptable.
